Defiance, Ohio – September 21, 2009 – Heidelberg University women’s golf team finished third at the Defiance College Invitational, hosted by Defiance College on Monday, September 21 at Kettering Country Club. Leading the pack for the Berg was Sarah Baker (Clyde, Ohio / Clyde) 94 (46, 48) which earned her a top-20 finish with a tie for 13th place.
Heidelberg shot a 404 over the course of one round. Finishing in front of the Berg was Ohio Northern University 333 and University of Northwestern Ohio 364. Defiance College 421 and College of Mount St. Joseph 433 also participated in the invite.
Joining Baker with a top-20 finish was Kaley Willer (Green Springs, Ohio / Clyde) 97 (50, 47) earning 17th place and Jen Wargo (Middelburg Heights, Ohio / Midpark) 99 (49, 50) receiving 18th place. Also contributing were Ali Sayre (Sylvania, Ohio / Sylvania Northvew) 114 (61, 53) for 28th place and Kayla Percy (Cincinnati, Ohio / Saint Ursula) 118 (59, 59) placing 29th.
Heidelberg’s women’s golf team will next host in the Heidelberg University Invitational starting Saturday, September 26 at Mohawk Golf and Country Club.
