Chesterland, Ohio – September 20, 2009 – Heidelberg University women’s golf team finished ninth at the 2009 John Carroll University Fall Invitational, hosted by John Carroll over the weekend at Fowler’s Mill Golf Course. Leading the pack for the Berg was Sarah Baker (Clyde, Ohio / Clyde) 186 (95, 91) which earned her a top-20 finish with 15th place.
Heidelberg shot an 833 (415, 418) over the course of two rounds. Earning a first place finish was Otterbein College 687 (351, 336), followed by Ohio Northern University 704 (353, 351), and Wittenberg University 726 (358, 368). Mount Union College, Wilmington College, John Carroll University, Baldwin-Wallace College, and Capital University also partook.
The Berg had four golfers who participated in the invitational. Jen Wargo (Middelburg Heights, Ohio / Midpark) 200 (103, 97) tied for 27th place, while Kaley Willer (Green Springs, Ohio / Clyde) 201 (96, 105) finished in 29th place. Ali Sayre (Sylvania, Ohio / Sylvania Northvew) 246 (121, 125) concluded in 47th place.
Heidelberg’s women’s golf team will next compete in the Defiance College Invitational Monday, September 21 at Kettering Country Club.
