'Berg In Final Preparation for OAC Championships

Tiffin, Ohio – April 21, 2010 – The Heidelberg University women’s golf team took part in the Kyle Ryman Golf Invitational hosted by Tiffin University at the Mohawk Golf and Country Club over the weekend.

Heidelberg did not compete in the overall team competition, but had some strong individual performances. The Berg is in its final preparation for the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships slated for this weekend.

Planning to take part in just the first round of the invitational was Sarah Baker (Clyde, Ohio / Clyde) and she did not disappoint. On the par-72 course she fired an 87, marking the first time she has shot under 90 in a collegiate tournament. Assisting with her personal best was three birdies.

 Leading the way for the Berg was Tiffany Stark (Lancaster, Ohio / Lancaster). She opened with a 98 and returned to shot a 94 for a 192. Jen Wargo (Middleburg Heights, Ohio / Midpark) bounced back from a tough first round score of 108 to fire a 94 on day two to finish at 202.

Rounding out the list of individuals representing the Berg was Erika Danver (Jackson, Ohio / Jackson). Danver shot a 228, firing a 113 in round one and concluding with a 115.
