The Heidelberg University women’s golf team competed in the 2013 Ohio Athletic Conference Invitational, hosted by Ohio Northern, before gearing up for the OAC Championships in one week.
The Heidelberg ladies swung their way to a fifth place finish at Colonial Hills Golf Course in Harrod, Ohio. As a team, the Berg finished with a two-day total of 635 (271-418).
On Friday, the course played as a par 36 measuring 2,846 yards. Saturday the field of 41 competitors played Colonial Hills as an 18-hole, par 72 that measured 5,829 yards.
The Heidelberg women were led by transfer Shelby Dearth, who carded a two round total of 153 by shooting 53 on Friday and following it with a 99 on Saturday.
Erica Danver and Rachel Huth followed Dearth’s performance with a scor of 157 and 158, shooting 50-107 and 52-106 respectively.
Claire Maneer rounded out the four women Berg with by carding a 166 (61-105).
The Heidelberg women will play host to the 2013 OAC Championships next week at Mohawk Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio. The OAC Championships will begin on Saturday, April 27 and commence on Sunday, April 28.
