TIFFIN, Ohio - Heidelberg volleyball earned themselves another thrilling come from behind victory against Ohio Athletic Conference foe, Ohio Northern in front of a home crowd in Seiberling Gymnasium. The Polar Bears led 2-1 after three sets but the Student Princes rallied to take the match, 3-2 and remain unbeaten in conference play.
The Berg took the first set, 25-20 before dropping the second and third, 16-25 and 21-25. The Berg rallied behind the efforts of standout freshman Sarah Parker and veteran outside hitter Amber Welfle to take the next two sets, 25-23 and 15-6.
"I'm extremely proud of our girls, not of the way they played, but of the way they handled adversity and stepped up," said head coach Jason Miller. "That's the sign of a very mature team - and that's really exciting to see."
Welfle and Parker played well the entire evening but came alive in the fifth and final set. Welfle served for 11 of the Berg’s 15 points while Parker claimed five kills in the fifth set alone. Parker also assisted on the game winning block with junior Sarah Botts.
