TIFFIN, Ohio—Heidelberg University junior outside hitter Marian Bevington (Celina/Parkway) was selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference volleyball player of the week, announced today by the conference office.
Bevington led both the Berg’s offense and defense as the Berg went 3-1 at last weekend’s Great Lakes Regional Challenge hosted by Wittenberg University. The 2010 second-team all-conference selection posted season highs of 14 kills and seven blocks—including six solo stops—in a 3-0 victory over No. 13 Hope (Mich.) College.
This season, Bevington is leading the team with 78 kills, a .437 hitting percentage and 33 total blocks.
Heidelberg returns to the court tomorrow night when it opens OAC play against Wilmington College at 7 p.m. in Seiberling Gymnasium in Tiffin.
