TIFFIN, Ohio—Junior left handed pitcher Ali Sayre (Sylvania/Northview) has been named Ohio Athletic Conference softball pitcher of the week, announced today by the league office. Sayre helped the Berg to a 2-2 record for the week and the Tri-Color was 1-1 in games she pitched.
Sayre worked 3.0 innings of relief in Wednesday’s 6-2 win over Defiance College, scattering four hits and striking out three without allowing a run. She worked to a no decision in yesterday’s 6-4 loss to Wittenberg College, allowing two runs (none unearned) on six hits while striking out four over 7.0 innings.
In six appearances, including four starts, this season, Sayre is 3-2 with 23 strikeouts against only five walks and a 0.52 earned run average over 34.1 innings.
Heidelberg will play a pair of doubleheaders this week, traveling to Bluffton University tomorrow and opening OAC play Wednesday at Capital University.
