NEW CONCORD, Ohio - Heidelberg University track and field took part in the OAC West Split Meet, hosted by Muskingum University. The women finished in second place while the men finished fifth.
Marian Bevington led the way for the women. The senior finished first in the 100 meter hurdles (15.86), long jump (5.46m) and javelin throw (38.74m).
Teammate Madison Haasz finished second in the javelin (34.11m). Haasz grabbed a third place finish in shot put (11.69m), an event that was won by Heidelberg’s Mary Beth Boyden (12.14m)
Ally Blum added a third place finish in the discus (36.45m).
In the women’s 800m, Bobbi Custer finished second with a time of 2:28.79.
Sophie Goobic finished second in the steeplechase (11:42.16)
Heidelberg’s women’s 4x400m relay team – Taylor Dillon, Custer, Catarina Orr and Nichole Johnson – finished second (4:25.65).
Thrower Gage Falcone led the men’s team, as he finished second in discus (44.09m), second in hammer throw (48.72m) and third in shot put (14.53m).
Nate Davis, indoor high jump national champion, finished first in long jump (6.96m) and second in high jump (1.93m).
In the 800m, Jacob Berryman finished third (1:59.97).
Kevin Neel took second in the 5000m (15:48.33) while Dustin Kuess finished second in the steeplechase (10:17.68).
The teams will compete at the Marv Frye Invitational at Ohio Wesleyan on April 6.
