Lynch Wins Another Triple Jump at All-Ohio Championships

WESTERVILLE, Ohio—Junior Josh Lynch (Dayton/Meadowdale) won another triple jump competition today, highlighting performances by the Heidelberg University men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. The men’s tallied 49 points to come in fifth place among 18 teams, while the women placed 15th of 19 teams with nine points.

Lynch won the triple jump with a 46-10.75 mark.

In addition to Lynch, junior Wes Hendricks (Beavercreek) came in third in the 400-meter dash in 49.86 and fifth in the 200-meter dash in 22.73.

Senior Joe Yoder (West Liberty/West Liberty-Salem) leaped 6-4.75 in the high jump to come in third place. Lynch was just behind Yoder in the high jump, recording 6-2.75, good for fifth.

Yoder also came in sixth in the 400-meter dash in 50.89.

Hendricks, junior Gibril Kamara (Westerville/Central), freshman Austin Bentz (Tiffin/Columbian) and senior Julius Salgado (Fremont/Ross) teamed to place second in the 4-by-200-meter relay with a time of 1:31.98.

Junior Marian Bevington (Celina/Parkway) highlighted women’s action with a third-place performance in the high jump with a mark of 17-9.00.

Freshman Kristen Toth (Strongsville) came in fifth in the high jump with a mark of 5-0.25.

Next Saturday’s Ohio State University Tune-Up will be the final competition for both teams before competing in the 2012 OAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 24-25.
