Delaware, Ohio – May 26, 2011 – The Heidelberg University men’s track and field team is headed to the finals in the 4x400-meter relay at the 2011 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.
The team of Joe Yoder (West Liberty, Ohio / West Liberty Salem), Josh Bowmar (Marengo, Ohio / Highland), Terrence Horton (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington) and Seth Robertson (Burton, Ohio / Sunbury) ran in heat one and crossed the finish line in 3:13.94. In heat one the Berg finished third and its time ranks seventh in the final field.
Following completion of the finals on Saturday the Berg will look to secure All-American accolades. It is the fifth time that the Berg has been represented in the relay at nationals and this season the group is looking to ink their names with the 2007 team as All-Americans. The final race is slated for 5:15 p.m.
Prior to teaming up on the 4x400-meter relay, Yoder took part in the 400-meter hurdles preliminaries. He finished fourth in his heat with a time of 53.76 to close out his year in the event.
Also competing as individuals at nationals this weekend is Nate Davis (Dayton, Ohio / Stivers) in the high jump and Bowmar will take part in the javelin on Saturday prior to the relay finals. The high jump is scheduled for Friday at 5:00 p.m.
