Berea, Ohio – April 23, 2011 – The Heidelberg University men’s track and field teams competed today at the unscored Sparky Adams Invitational at the George Finnie Stadium hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College.
The meet consisted of athletes from 32 NCAA Division I, II and III schools as well as NAIA institutions.
Ohio Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week Nate Davis (Dayton, Ohio / Stivers) led the way with a first place finish in long jump with a leap of 22’2½”. Davis also improved on his NCAA Division III Nationals provisional qualifying mark in high jump at 6’9”, while finishing second.
Also earning a provisional mark was the 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Josh Bowmar (Marengo, Ohio / Highland), Seth Robertson (Burton, Ohio / Newbury), Joe Yoder (West Liberty, Ohio / West Liberty Salem) and Terrence Horton (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington). They crossed the finish line at 3:16.14 for a first place finish.
Bowmar also made an impact in the field and earned third in javelin with a toss of 193’2”, while Horton (50.42) and Wes Hendricks (Beavercreek, Ohio / Beavercreek ) (50.75) finished eighth and tenth, respectively, in the 400 meter dash.
Jeremichael Lampley (Huber Heights, Ohio / Wayne) finished seventh in the 400 meter hurdles at 57.83. Also finishing seventh in their respective event was Adam Bumb (Alvada, Ohio / New Riegel) (39’2¼”, triple jump) and Frank Medina (Wakeman, Ohio / Western Reserve) (49’4 ½”, shot put).
Yoder rounded out the top-10 finishes for the Berg with a ninth place finish in the 110 meter hurdles (15.38).
