“They – (the throwers) – are a very young group but we are very fortunate to have great leadership,” said Heidelberg throws coach C.J. Potter. “Our group is hungry to learn and develop and are a perfect example of how hard work can lead to success early in a college career.”

Boyden, coming off of her performance at the University of Findlay where she broke her own record in the weight throw a week ago, broke the Heidelberg record in the shot put. Her toss of 13.07m (42-8) claimed first place overall.

Boyden then went on to claim a second place finish in the weight throw with a heave of 13.79m (45-2). Boyden was bested by Carly Stock of Ohio Athletic Conference foe Mount Union.

“I couldn’t be happier to have such a positive and hard working group. They do everything we ask of them,” added Potter.
