An Iowa City, Iowa native, Palngji comes to Heidelberg University from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa where competed as a member of the track and field team.
As a collegiate athlete, Palngji helped the Wartburg 1600-meter relay squad earn an Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title. While attending Wartburg, Palngji earned five All-Iowa Intercollegiate Atheltic Conference selections while serving as team captain for the 2011 season.
Before traveling to Heidelberg Palngji was an assistant cross country and track and field coach at Iowa City West High School, his high school alma mater.
While at Iowa City West, Pangji earned MVC Divisional Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2011-2012 season.
