MARIETTA, Ohio—The Heidelberg University men’s tennis team defeated Marietta College, 8-1, today in an Ohio Athletic Conference match at the Beren Tennis Center in Marietta, Ohio. The Student Princes went 5-1 in singles action and swept three doubles matches.
Seniors Bobby Lochotzki (Oak Harbor) and Cliff Goetz (Oak Harbor) and sophomores Zach Schwenning (Barberton), Dorion Kempf (Galion) and Matthew McDivitt (Cortland/Lakeview) won singles matches for the Student Princes (10-4, 4-1 OAC), with Goetz taking a clean 6-0, 6-0 slate.
Andy Knauff claimed Marietta’s (7-3, 2-2 OAC) lone win of the day.
The tandems of Lochotzki and Goetz, senior Ryan Patrick Earl (Madison) and Schwenning, and Kempf and McDivitt swept doubles competition.
Heidelberg returns to Tiffin for an OAC match against Baldwin-Wallace College on Wednesday.
