Medina, Ohio – April 27, 2011 – The Heidelberg University men’s tennis team suffered a 6-3 setback to Ohio Athletic Conference foe and host John Carroll University today at the Paramount Tennis Club. The Berg falls to 7-10 overall and 3-5 in the conference, while the Blue Streaks improve to 10-6 and 6-1.
Dylan Booth (Westerville Central / Westerville, Ohio) earned the first point of the day for Heidelberg with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 win at the number five singles spot.
The Berg shined in doubles with two victories. Patrick Ryan Earl (Madison, Ohio / Madison) teamed up with Zachary Schwenning (Barberton, Ohio / Barberton) for a 9-7 win, while Dorion Kempf (Galion, Ohio / Galion) and Matthew McDivitt (Cortland, Ohio / Lakeview) won 8-4 to end the Berg’s day on a positive note. Both partners improve their overall record to 10-6 and 9-5, respectively.
Heidelberg finishes regular season play when it hosts Capital University on Saturday, April 30.
