Heidelberg Edges Out the Mustangs

Hilton Head S.C. - March 14, 2011 – Senior Miles Yetter (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Jerome) a member of the Heidelberg University men’s tennis team, defeated Millad Sajjad of Stevenson University in the final single match to give Heidelberg a 5-4 win. The Berg improves to 3-2 on the year, while the Mustangs fall to 2-1 on the season.

After Stevenson won the first double match of the day, Heidelberg won two-straight.  The duo of junior Patrick Ryan Earl (Madison, Ohio  / Madison) and freshman Zachary Schwenning (Barberton, Ohio / Barberton) won 8-4, followed with an 8-2 win at the third doubles by freshmen Dorion Kempf (Galion, Ohio / Galion) and Matthew McDivitt (Cortland, Ohio / Lakeview).

The Mustangs gained momentum earning victories in the first and second single spots. The Berg rounded up two wins of its own courtesy of Schwenning (3-6, 6-4, 10-8) and Christopher Wobser (7-5, retired) posting victories.

After Stevenson tied the team’s score of 4-4, Yetter posted a convincing 6-2, 6-3 win in the last single spot to put Heidelberg on top.
