'Berg Drops Regular Season Match, 5-4

Columbus, Ohio – May 3, 2010 – The Heidelberg University men’s tennis team traveled to Columbus, Ohio today for its final regular season match to face Ohio Athletic Conference foe Capital University. Despite winning four-straight single matches, the Berg would lose 5-4.
 
The Berg now drops to 6-12 overall and 4-5 in the OAC, while the Crusaders advance to 8-9 and 5-4 against league foes.
 
Bradley Cerveny (North Royalton, Ohio / North Royalton) was the first to put points on the board for the Berg at the third singles spot. Down 2-6 in the first set, Cerveny battled back to win 6-2, 1-0.

Dylan Booth (Westerville, Ohio / Central) was dominant with a 6-1, 7-5 win. Patrick Ryan Earl (Madison, Ohio / Madison) battled it out for a 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 victory.

Rounding off the fourth-straight single match win for Heidelberg was Miles Yetter (Dubline, Ohio / Dublin Jerome). Yetter beat his opponent 6-1, 6-2. This marks his team-leading 10th win.

The Berg returns to action for postseason play. They earned the sixth seed in the OAC tournament and they will travel to no. 3 seed Baldwin Wallace College on Wednesday. It’s slated to begin at 3:30 p.m.
