Men's Tennis Wins on the Road

Adrian, Mich. – March 17, 2010 – After dropping its first four matches of the year the Heidelberg University men’s tennis team has won two of its last three outings following a 5-4 win at Adrian College today, March 17.

Overall the Berg stands at 2-5 and have another non-conference match scheduled with Defiance College on the 23rd before opening up Ohio Athletic Conference play at Mount Union College March 27th. Following today’s outing, Adrian is 2-2.

Starting things off for the Berg was a 2-1 advantage in doubles action. Patrick Ryan Earl (Madison, Ohio / Madison) and Miles Yetter (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Jerome) teamed up to win 8-3 at second doubles. Following suit was the duo of Dylan Booth (Westerville, Ohio / Central) and Bradley Cerveny (North Royalton,Ohio / North Royalton), with an 8-4 victory at third doubles.

Booth and Yetter made it two wins on the day picking up hard fought wins in singles action. Yetter dominated at sixth singles, winning in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. At fourth singles, Booth opened with a 6-4 win in the first set, but fell 5-7 in set two. He rebounded with a tough 7-5 victory in the third set for the win.

Also taking home a win in straight sets was Cliff Goetz (Oak Harbor, Ohio / Oak Harbor). In the second singles position he won with identical 6-2 marks.
