Hilton Head, S.C. – March 10, 2010 – The Heidelberg University men’s tennis team topped Westminster College, 9-0, to pick up its first win on the year.
Starting the scoring off was the duo of Bobby Lochtzki (Oak Harbor, Ohio / Oak Harbor) and Cliff Goetz (Oak Harbor, Ohio / Oak Harbor) with an 8-3 win at first doubles. Following the winning track was Miles Yetter (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Jerome) and Patrick Ryan Early (Madison, Ohio / Madison) with an 8-0 win at second doubles. Making it a clean sweep in doubles play was Bradley Cerveny (North Royalton, Ohio / North Royalton) and Dylan Booth (Westerville, Ohio / Central). The group won 8-1 at third doubles.
Heidelberg won five of six singles matches in straight sets. Picking up straight set wins was Lochtzki (6-4, 6-2) at first singles followed in order by Goetz (6-3, 6-2), Cerveny (6-0, 6-0) and Booth (6-2, 6-0). Rounding out the winners in straight sets was Earl 6-0, 6-1 at sixth singles.
Picking up the sixth win in singles action was Yetter in the fifth spot (3-6, 6-4, 10-7).
