Notre Dame (OH) Tops the Berg

Medina, Ohio - February 23, 2010 - The Heidelberg University men's tennis team resumed its 2009-10 season today, February 23, 2010, against Notre Dame College. The host Falcons improved to 2-1 on the year with an 8-1 victory over the Berg. The setback drops Heidelberg to 0-2 for the year.

Taking home a victory for the Berg at fifth singles was junior Miles Yetter (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Jerome). Yetter won 7-6 (8-6) in set one and returned to make it a win in straight sets, 6-3.

The freshman duo of Bobby Lochotzki (Oak Harbor, Ohio / Oak Harbor) and Cliff Goetz (Oak Harbor, Ohio / Oak Harbor) pushed the Falcons to the limit at first doubles, dropping a hard fought 9-7 decision.

Lochotzki returned and to lead the Berg at first singles. He came out to post a 3-6 win in set one, but  Notre Dame's number one singles player, Matt Roche answered with a 7-5 win at set two followed by a 6-1 victory in set two to take home the match win.
