TIFFIN, Ohio—Heidelberg University senior forward Mike Harling (Manchester, England/Holy Cross) was named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference men’s soccer second team, announced today by the OAC office, to headline a group of three Student Princes who earned All-OAC honors. Senior midfielder Michael Juart (Hilliard/Darby) and junior goalkeeper Ryan Smith (Roanoke, Texas/Keller) earned honorable mention accolades.
This season, Harling, who is earning his second career all-conference honor, appeared in 16 matches, scoring one goal. In 53 career matches, including 48 starts, Harling totaled 29 points on 12 goals and five assists. As a junior in 2010, Harling earned first-team All-OAC honors.
Juart, earning his first career all-conference mention, tallied three points on one goal and one assist in 17 appearances and 15 starts in 2011. In 72 career matches, including 54 starts, Juart scored five goals and added five assists for 15 points.
Smith, a first-team All-OAC pick in 2010, started all 16 matches he appeared in in goal, logging a total of 1,535 minutes. He made 81 saves while allowing 21 goals for a 1.23 goals against average and finished the season with a personal record of 3-9-4 with three shutouts. In 50 career matches, including 49 starts, Smith owns a 22-19-7 overall record with 16 shutouts and has made 215 saves while allowing just 48 goals in 2,520 minutes in the net.
