TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University men’s soccer team lost an Ohio Athletic Conference match to Muskingum University, 1-0, today at Hidden Valley in Tiffin, Ohio.
The win improves the Fighting Muskies to 6-7-0 overall and 1-2-0 in the OAC. The Student Princes fall to 2-6-4 overall and 0-2-1 in the OAC.
The lone score of the game came in the 33rd minute when Daniel Meehan scored an unassisted goal.
Senior first-team All-OAC forward Mike Harling (Manchester, England/Holy Cross) led the Berg offensive attack with four shots. Senior midfielder Michael Juart (Hilliard/Darby) placed two of his three shots on goal.
Junior two-time All-OAC goalkeeper Ryan Smith (Roanoke, Texas/Keller) made six saves while logging all 90 minutes of action.
Despite the loss, Heidelberg held a slight 8-7 advantage in corner kicks, but was outshot, 17-14.
