Buhrman Earns Weekly Honor

Senior forward Cory Buhrman (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick) of the Heidelberg University men’s soccer team has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 4, 2010.

It is Buhrman’s first player of the week honor this year and second of his career. He earned the honor as a freshman for the week of Oct. 1, 2007.

In a 2-0 week for Heidelberg, Buhrman scored a goal in the Berg’s 6-0 shutout against Bluffton (9/29) and recorded two scores, including the game winner, in the OAC opener against the defending conference champions Capital (10/02). Heidelberg beat Capital 3-1.

He totaled 10 shots for the week, six of which were on goal. Buhrman is second on the team with 23 shots on the year, including a team-leading 14 on goal. He leads the team with 10 points and three game-winners.

Heidelberg currently boasts on overall record of 7-3 on the year and competes next on Wednesday Oct. 6 at Otterbein University.
