Hiram, Ohio – September 19, 2009 – The Heidelberg University men’s soccer team lost a hard fought battle against Hiram College with the score of 3-0. Heidelberg goes to 4-2 on the season while Kenyon improves to 4-3.
Hiram first put points on the board when Cole Miller connected with Petar Knezevic in the 13th minute who then managed to sneak the ball passed Heidelberg’s goal keeper Ryan Smith (Roanoke, Texas / Keller) to make the score 1-0, which eventually captured the game-winning goal.
Adding assurance for the Terriers was David Krems who scored a goal in the 51st and 73rd minute.
Heidelberg’s Cory Buhrman (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick ), Greg Acuna (Findlay, Ohio / Findlay), and Gavin McCarthy (Hilliard, Ohio / Hilliard Darby) each had a shot on goal.
The Berg’s Ryan Smith had three saves on the day.
Heidelberg looks to jump back as they host Grove City College, Wednesday September 23, at 6:00 p.m.
