Delaware, Ohio – September 7, 2010 - The Heidelberg University men’s golf team, and second-year head coach Daniel Hartsel, began the year at the Ohio Wesleyan University Fall Intercollegiate. The Berg finished seventh at the Oak Haven Golf Course in Delaware, Ohio.
Carnegie Mellon University posted the win with after shooting a 617 (311, 306), followed by the host Bishops with a score of 626 (312, 314). Heidelberg posted a 660 (335, 325).
Senior David Lilly (Greencastle, Ind. / Greencastle) led the Berg tying for 22nd with a two-round total of 161. He opened the day with an 83, but bounced back with a 78 in round two.
Brian Cline (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) finished the day tying for 34th after shooting a 266 (85, 81). Sam Arnold (Springfield, Ohio / Kenton Ridge) was behind Cline tying for 40th with a 168 (86, 82).
Rounding out the Heidelberg golfers was Zak Markley (Williamsville, N.Y. / Williamsville South) shooting a 170 (81, 89) and Corey Pierson (Troy, Ohio / Troy) with a 172 (88, 84).
