Alliance, Ohio – September 29, 2009 – The Heidelberg University men’s golf team finished in 11th place a t the 2009 Mount Union Invitational. Mount Union College hosted the event at the Tannenhauf Golf Club and the Alliance Country Club, both of which are located in Alliance, Ohio. Heidelberg combined to shot a 636 (319, 317).
Senior Kevin Lenhart (Arlington, Ohio / Arlington) shot a consistent 77, five-over par, in both rounds to stand in a tie for 18th in the final standings.
Junior David Lilly (Greencastle, Ind. / Greencastle) opened play with a team-best round of 75 on Sunday and returned with an 81 to finish at 156, good enough for a tie for 30th.
Also representing Heidelberg was senior Zack Koinis (Vermilion, Ohio / Vermilion) with a 158 (79, 79), sophomore Sam Arnold (Springfield, Ohio / Kenton Ridge) with a 168 (88, 80) and freshman Tyler Willaman (Amanda, Ohio / Amanda-Clearcreek) with a 171 (88, 83).
Heidelberg concludes its fall portion of its schedule Oct. 9 at the Ohio Northern Invite.
