Wooster, Ohio – April 26, 2010 – Over the weekend the Heidelberg University men’s golf team took part in the Nye Intercollegiate hosted by the College of Wooster at the Wooster Country Club.
As a team the Berg fired a 640 (330, 310) to finish eighth in the 14-team field. Malone College took the team title with a 590 (291, 299) followed by Baldwin-Wallace College with a 607 (301, 306).
Taking home 14th place was Zack Koinis (Vermilion, Ohio / Vermilion). Koinis opened up with an 81 in round one, but settled down on day two to fire a team-best 74 to close at 155. Shooting a 159 (83, 76) was Kevin Lenhart (Arlington, Ohio / Arlington), good enough for a tie for 24th.
In a tie for 36th were David Lilly (Greencastle, Ind. / Greencastle) and Zak Markley (Williamsville, N.Y / Williamsville South). The duo each finished with an 83 in round one and fired an 80 in round two for a total of 163.
Rounding out the Heidelberg golfers was Trent Kueling (Mansfield, Ohio / Madison). He fired a 181 (86, 95) to finish in a tie for 69th.
