A native of Bettsville, and 2003 graduate of Heidelberg University Dan Hartsel takes over as both men's and women's golf coach.

Harstsel began his coaching career in 1990 at Hopewell-Loudon High school as the assistant basketball coach. From 1993 to 1997 Hartsel took his talents to his high school alma mater of Bettsville High School before returning to Hopewell-Loudon again as an assistant basketball coach.

In 2001 Dan traveled to Vanlue High School to take over as the head baseball and basketball coach as well as the Athletic Director. In 2003 Hartsel relinquished his duties as the head baseball coach but remained at Vanlue as the head basketball coach and Athletic Director until 2007. He finished his high school coaching career with a .680 winning percentage.

In 2007 Hartsel returned to Heidelberg's campus as a part-time assistant before being hired on the following year as a full-time men's basketball assistant. During the period in between 2008 and the present Dan simultaneously worked as a men's basketball assistant and head men's golf coach at the Berg before being given the head coaching position for both the men's and women's golf team.

Dan currently resides in Fostoria, Ohio with Kellie, his wife of 15 years and their daughter Shea.
