TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete Saturday, Oct. 29 at the 2011 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Ohio Northern University at Lost Creek Golf Course in Lima, Ohio.

Both teams last competed at the Oberlin College Interregional Rumble on Oct. 15, where the men’s team placed 10th among 34 teams, while the women placed 25th among 33 teams.
Senior John Gogle (Sunbury/Big Walnut) topped the men’s squad in 30th place among 315 runners in a time of 26:38.40. Sophomore Sophie Goobic (Canton, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams) led the women’s top five by finishing in 67th place in a field of 282 runners with a time of 24:05.00.
The men’s team is looking for its first conference title since 2009 and fifth overall. The women’s squad is seeking its first OAC crown.
