'Berg Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams to Compete at Oberlin Interregional Rumble

TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University men’s and women’s cross country teams return to the course Saturday, Oct. 15 when they compete at the Oberlin College Interregional Rumble in Oberlin, Ohio in their final competition before the Ohio Athletic Conference championship. The women’s six-kilometer race begins at 11 a.m., while the gun for the men’s eight-kilometer race goes off at 11:45 a.m.

Both teams last competed two weekends ago in wet and windy conditions at the All-Ohio Championships in Cedarville, where the men placed 21st among 45 teams and the women came in 33rd place among 47 teams.

In that race, senior Jordan Karnes (Edgerton) led the Student Princes with a time of 26:34.17 to finish in 82nd place overall in a field of 310 runners, while junior Bobbi Custer (Woodstock/Triad) topped all ‘Berg runners by placing 142nd in a field of 317 in 20:05.73.

This weekend’s meet at Oberlin will be the final tune up before the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 29, hosted by Ohio Northern University in Ada.
