TIFFIN, Ohio - Despite the 16th career double-double from senior Nate Davis (Dayton/Stivers), Heidelberg University men's basketball team had their four-game winning streak snapped by Baldwin Wallace University.  The Yellow Jackets emerged with a 75-65 win in Seiberling Gymnasium.

Davis had 21 points and 13 rebounds to go along with six blocked shots.

Baldwin Wallace junior Kyle Payne led all scorers with 24 points.  With a lay-up late in the first half, Payne eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau for the Yellow Jackets.

The first half featured six lead changes and seven ties.

Heidelberg (9-7, 4-5 OAC) held a 23-17 lead with 6:11 left in the first half, which prompted a timeout from Baldwin Wallace.  The Yellow Jackets responded with an 11-2 run to take a 28-25 lead at halftime.

A physical second half was controlled by Baldwin Wallace (12-4, 7-2 OAC).  The Yellow Jackets, coached by former Heidelberg head coach Duane Sheldon, used another 11-2 run to provide a comfortable cushion.

Heidelberg would cut the BW lead to four on two occasions, but the Student Princes could not get any closer.

The Yellow Jackets controlled the boards, out-rebounding Heidelberg 52-32.  Baldwin Wallace has won nine straight games.

Dane Givner (Pittsburgh, PA/Harvest Prep) scored 14 points, which moved him into tenth on Heidelberg's all-time scoring list.  Givner has 1,264 career points.  Shawn Shriver, a 2008 graduate, scored 1,260 points during his tenure.

Mike Petrie (Columbus/Beechcroft) scored 11 points off the bench for The Berg.

The game was the final contest of the first half of the Ohio Athletic Conference schedule for both teams.  At 4-5, Heidelberg is tied for fifth with Mount Union and John Carroll.  Baldwin Wallace sits in third place at 7-2.  Marietta and Capital each finished the first half with an 8-1 record.

The second half of the double-round robin OAC slate begins on Saturday.  Mount Union will travel to Tiffin to take on Heidelberg on Alumni Day.  Heidelberg head coach Anthony Gholson is expecting over 25 alumni to return for the festivities.
