Givner Tabbed OAC Player of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - On Monday, the Ohio Athletic Conference named Heidelberg University guard Dane Givner (Pittsburgh, PA/Harvest Prep) as the Men's Basketball Player of the Week. 

Givner scored 28 points in a win over Muskingum on Saturday.  He was 13-of-15 shooting, with his only two missed shots coming from beyond the arc.  He added six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot.  The win improved Heidelberg's record to 7-6, 2-4 OAC.  Dane Givner

A senior, Givner has been a standout for the Student Princes since he arrived on campus.  After the 2009-10 season, he was named OAC Freshman of the Year.

He has been named to the All-OAC Second Team once and was an All-OAC Honorable Mention twice.  

For his career, Givner has scored 1,215 points, good for 12th place on the all-time list at Heidelberg.

The player of the week honor is the first for Givner. 

Heidelberg returns to action on Wednesday night, as the Student Princes head to Ada to take on Ohio Northern.  Tip-off at the ONU Sports Center is slated for 7:30 p.m.
