Heidelberg Kicker Dan Kilger Named OAC Special Teams Player of the Week

TIFFIN, Ohio—Heidelberg University junior kicker Dan Kilger (Novi, Mich./Novi) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference special teams player of the week today by the league office for his efforts in the Student Princes’ 17-7 win against previously undefeated Muskingum University on Saturday. The honor is the second in three weeks for Kilger.

Kilger connected on three of his field goal attempts of 20, 39 yards and 28 yards. His 39-yard boot was a career long.

Additionally, Kilger totaled 311 yards on five kickoffs, averaging 62.2 yards per kickoff.

For the season, Kilger is seven-of-10 on field goal attempts and 16-of-18 on point-after-touchdown tries for a team-leading 37 points.

The special teams player of the week mention is the third straight week a Student Prince has earned the accolade. Junior running back/kick returner Cartel Brooks (Kokomo, Ind./Galion) earned the honor last week.

The Berg is back in action Saturday, Oct. 15 when it hosts the University of Mount Union. Kickoff from Mayer Field is slated for 1:30 p.m. Live stats for that game will be available at the following URL: http://www.heidelberg.edu/statcrew/fb/xlive.htm.
