TIFFIN, Ohio—Heidelberg University senior cornerback and team captain Tony Gordon (Euclid) was named to D3Football.com’s team of the week, announced today, for games of Sept. 22-24. Gordon recorded four tackles and made an interception that set up a Student Prince touchdown in Heidelberg’s 41-20 victory against Otterbein University last Saturday in Westerville.
With 26 seconds remaining in the first half and the Berg leading, 24-7, Gordon intercepted Austin Schlosser’s pass and returned it 37 yards to the Otterbein three-yard line. With 12 seconds to play and after two incompletions, a fake field goal turned into a touchdown to give the Student Princes a 31-7 halftime lead.
