Tiffin, Ohio – July 12, 2010 – Senior quarterback Andrew Miller (Dalton, Ohio / Dalton) of the Heidelberg University football teams has been listed as a player to watch in 2010 according to OhioCollegeFootball.com. Miller joins fellow classmate and wide receiver Mike Preston (Maple Heights, Ohio / Euclid) on their respective positions watch lists for the fall.
OhioCollegeFootball.com released its top quarterbacks list last week. There are three groups, NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, FCA and the NAIA, and NCAA Division III. The Ohio Athletic Conference has five quarterbacks mentioned for NCAA Division III.
In 2010, Miller will be in his third year starting under center and will look to build on two record setting years. A season ago he picked up his first postseason honor after setting a new single-season passing touchdowns record. He finished the year with 22 touchdowns which topped his previous record of 19 he set as a sophomore. For the year he completed 132-of-260 passes for 2,159 yards. He threw for over 200 yards in six games, highlighted by a career-best 381yards at Capital University Sept. 19.
Heidelberg, under the guidance of fourth-year head coach Mike Hallett, opens the year at Alma College Sept. 4. The Berg is slated to play 10 regular season games, with five to be played at Mayer Field, on the campus of Heidelberg. Its home opener is slated for Sept. 18 against Baldwin-Wallace College.
