Entering his seventh season on the sidelines, Branden Jakubcin has been a vital part of Heidelberg’s defensive renaissance.
After injuries forced him from the field to the sideline, he has steadily risen through the coaching ranks at Heidelberg. After serving as a student assistant, “Jake” has become a full time assistant coach. He is the defensive backs coach and video coordinator.
Jakubcin, a Huron High School graduate, transferred to Heidelberg prior to the 2006 season. During that campaign, he finished fifth on the team with 41 tackles in six games.
Over the past two seasons, Jakubcin has mentored three All-OAC performers – Tony Gordon in 2011, Justin Suddeth and Chadd Williamson in 2012.
Jakubcin is a native of Huron, Ohio and currently resides in Tiffin. He earned his bachelor degree in 2009. Last name is pronounced jacob-son. Follow him on Twitter, @CoachJakubcin.
