A jack-of-all-trades, assistant coach Corey Fillipovich enters his ninth season on the Heidelberg coaching staff. He has coached on both sides of the ball and served as equipment manager over the course of his time at the Berg. In 2010, Fillipovich was named recruiting coordinator and outside linebackers coach.
During his time at the Berg, Fillipovich has coached five All-Ohio Athletic Conference honorees, led by three-time recipient (2007, 2008, 2009) defensive tackle Matt Grieves. Grieves has also earned a spot on ESPN The Magazine District 4 Academic Second Team. In 2009 Grieves was named the 39th All-American in the history of the program. In Fillipovich’s first season with the defensive line, Fillipovich coached all-league performer Joe Cox. Under Fillipovich's tutelage, Andy Fadenholz was named to the All-OAC Second Team in 2010.
Fillipovich brings both Ohio Athletic Conference playing and coaching experience to the Berg coaching staff. A 2003 graduate of Muskingum College with a degree in history, he was a three-year letter winner with experience at multiple positions on both the offensive and defensive lines.
Fillipovich gained a year of coaching experience during the 2003 season as an assistant defensive line coach at Muskingum.
He earned a master’s degree in education from Heidelberg in 2006.
He is a native of Adena, Ohio and currently resides in Tiffin, Ohio.
