Heidelberg to Honor Jason Lash, Jordan Martin with Gold Glove at Friday's OAC Doubleheader

TIFFIN, Ohio—Heidelberg University director of athletics and head baseball coach Matt Palm will present former shortstop Jason Lash ‘11 and current junior catcher Jordan Martin (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) with their 2011 Gold Glove Awards following Friday’s Ohio Athletic Conference home doubleheader against Muskingum University.

Lash and Martin garnered two of just nine Gold Glove Awards honored by the American Baseball Coaches Association in 2011.

Lash finished his senior campaign second on the team with a .369 batting average, third with 66 hits and 46 runs scored, and led the team with 20 doubles. In the field, he boasted a .961 fielding percentage and helped to turn 34 double plays. He finished his career a four-time first-team All-OAC pick, three-time All-Mideast Region selection, and two-time All-America.

A first-year starter as a sophomore, Martin caught 21 would-be base stealers and fielded at a .994 clip, registering 318 putouts and 38 assists while committing just two errors. This season, Martin owns a .981 fielding percentage and has caught eight of 26 base stealers.
