Dear Fellow Classmates from ’79,
Being married to a ‘much’ older Heidelberg alumnus, I was able to reminisce along with the class of ’77 during their 30th class reunion weekend a year and a half ago. We had a great time seeing a lot of people that had been pushed to the back of our memories. More surprising, however, were the feelings that stirred while accompanying our middle son on a prospective student campus tour the year before. I don’t think I could apologize enough to our tour guide for continually interjecting stories as we strolled past the sites of my T-bridge experience, my RA responsibilities at King, and there in the lobby of Brown… the first kiss from my now husband, Lew!
No doubt there are similar experiences that the campus and your fellow classmates will help you to relive next summer at our 30th reunion. As the hair grays, or falls out, and muscle tone diminishes along with eyesight, do yourself a favor and pretend you are that teenager again for a weekend of laughs and stories.
Some of the planned highlights include a Friday night picnic, Alumni and Faculty presenting interesting Classes without Quizzes, Saturday’s Parade of classes to Seiberling for the Alumni Luncheon, Campus tours, a dinner for our Class of ’79, and a Sunday Worship Service organized by the class of 1959. In preparation for the event, please take a few moments to complete the class reunion questionnaire.
Why not join us to add some unplanned highlights to the weekend. At this point, please just put these dates on your calendar. Friday, June 19th through Sunday, June 21st More details will be mailed in January. If you would like to help contact classmates or plan our dinner, please email any one of us on the committee below.
We look forward to seeing you in June.
