Levels of Participation
WLI offers multiple levels of participation for women and men:
We are led by our three Directors:
- Dr. Ellen Nagy, Director of Faculty Student Advising and Support
- Dr. Nainsí Houston, Reference and Instruction Librarian
- Dr. Julie O'Reilly, Assistant Professor of Communication and Women's & Gender Studies
A group of up to 12 students serve as the student leadership team of WLI, or the Core. These students work alongside the Directors to coordinate WLI activities and serve as peer mentors to the other WLI members:
- Crystal Betts, Anthropology major
- Samantha Buglewicz, Criminal Justice major
- Erin Crenshaw, English major
- Rachel Ferguson, Communication and Theatre Arts (Media track) major
- Emily Giel, Accounting & Business Administration major
- Marrah Mitchell, Psychology major
- Katharine Murphy, Biology (Forensic Science track) major
- Melissa Herrera-Ortiz, Chemistry major
- Anaïs Salgado, Criminal Justice major
- Rachelle Vanover, Anthropology major
- Amber Welfle, Business Administration and Computer Information Systems major
New Core members will be selected by the Directors and existing Core. Open positions will be advertised and interested students must submit an application that includes an essay describing their leadership activities, including how WLI would benefit from their membership and how they could benefit from being a member.
