Ann M. Fudge

Ann FudgeForging new paths for women and African Americans in the workplace, Ann M. Fudge is one of the most influential corporate executives in America.

Fudge began her career as a marketing assistant for General Mills in 1977. On track to become a general manager, she left the company in 1986 and joined Kraft General Foods, where she built a reputation for reviving and repositioning older brands. She held several planning and marketing positions before becoming president of the $5 billion Beverages, Desserts and Post Division in 2000. While the division flourished under her leadership, she retired after one year, using the hiatus to care for her family and delve into charitable work.

In 2003, Fudge re-entered the workforce, becoming chairman and CEO of Young & Rubicam, a global network of marketing and communication companies. Two years later, she stepped down from leadership of its advertising arm but remained at the helm of the parent company.

A recipient of the prestigious Matrix Award for Advertising, she also was named one of Time’s Global Business Influentials. She has been profiled in Black Enterprise, Business Week and The New York Times, and was named by Fortune as one of the 50 most powerful women in American business. Fudge serves on numerous corporate and higher education boards. She is a trustee of the Rockefeller Foundation and an appointee to President Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform.

Fudge received her bachelor’s degree in management from Simmons College and her MBA from Harvard University.
