Cynthia Lepeley has a Ph.D. in Spanish and a Ph.D. in sociology, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition to teaching all levels of the Spanish curriculum at Heidelberg, Dr. Lepeley also teaches a course in Service Learning on the U.S/Mexico Border every year in which Heidelberg students spend a week in a Mexican immigrant community in South Texas, volunteering with a summer children's program.
When school is not in session, Dr. Lepeley devotes herself to Spanish medical and legal interpreting through the International Institute of Toledo. She is a Certified Medical Interpreter and is a Certified Court Interpreter in Ohio and Michigan.
