Heidelberg University’s Master of Arts in Education (MAE) program offers classes for a convenient pathway leading to endorsements in K-12 Reading, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), or 4/5 Early Childhood Generalist. The Reading and TESOL endorsement classes are all online, powered by UThink©; the 4/5 endorsement classes are held at the Tiffin campus during the summer semester. To obtain the endorsement, a teacher must successfully complete the required coursework (12 credit hours for TESOL and Reading, 10 credit hours for 4/5), pass the state mandated content exam, and apply for the endorsement to be added to a valid Ohio teaching license.
- Eligible applicants may enroll in the endorsement courses without completing the Master's degree as a graduate coursework only (non-degree) student.
- Eligible applicants already holding a Master’s degree may take the endorsement courses by completing the sequence as a graduate coursework only (non-degree) student.
- Students already accepted into the MAE program are welcome to enroll in these courses as electives.
Non-degree applicants interested in either course of study are subject to the admission and enrollment policies of the MAE program at Heidelberg, viewable in the Graduate Catalog.
